Lightning protection systems are often installed in historic trees near or over places where people congregate (L1). The aerial terminal must be installed at the very top of
this 100-foot white pine(L2). The solid bronze
cable was neatly hidden on the back side of the trunk (L3). The bronze cable was attached to grounding stakes and buried in a shallow trench (L4).
